I always love receiving photos from my brides. Andrea and her beautiful bridal party were captured beautifully by Neil Ta Photography. On Andrea, we created a very glamorous yet timeless look with winged liner and lots of individual lashes.
End your summer with some sweet inspiration from a bridal shoot I worked on in July. Thank you to 100 Layer Cake for featuring the Pink Lemonade shoot on your blog and to Sandy Tam for the beautiful photos, Berlyn Lai (BLoved Events) for styling the shoot, Lauren Ashley Williams for the gorgeous hair, Le Dolci for the delicious looking cake and desserts, Coquette Floral Studios for her fantastic florals, our stunning bride Sophia (Spot 6/Peggi Lepage), our handsome groom Drue (Spot 6) and all the rest of the crew that all helped make the shoot a success.
I haven’t done an outdoor shoot in years and I was thrilled I got to do this one (despite the mega huge ants crawling everywhere). The bright, fun decor and the open field will give you tonnes of inspiration for a sweet summer wedding.
Love is in the air…
I am thrilled to finally share a bridal editorial I worked on a few months back. For the makeup, I was inspired by the bright bold colours of spring flowers and the romantic, elegant feel of the dresses. Therese of ARTIESE Studios captured everything beautifully. The team was incredible and I’m so happy to have been apart of it.

Thrilled to be featured on Ruffled and to have worked on this gorgeous shoot filled with sparkling, whimsical and pretty wedding ideas! You’ve probably seen a few Wizard of Oz wedding themes floating around, but this was our take on this classic tale. Organized and styled by the fantastic Berlyn of BLoved Events and shot by the talented Sandy Tam, this shoot will have you feeling nostalgic and in love. It was a great team and I’m so happy to have met some new “friendors”!

Wedding decor has become a lot more interesting in the last few years thanks to sites like WedLuxe, Style Me Pretty, and Pinterest. From themed weddings to adding personal decor touches, you can be sure it will be memorable.
If you’re in need of some wedding decor ideas, Berlyn Lai from Bloved Events, fills us in on the hottest wedding decor trends of 2013!
Hot colours in 2013 – Emerald is pantone’s colour of the year, so we’ll be sure to see it come up in many weddings this year, likely paired with Gold for their elegant feel. Mint is another popular colour this year, it’s not only refreshing but also delicate, and can be mixed with other colours for a beautiful wedding palette.
Rustic Vintage is still a strong wedding trend. We can expect to see more barn weddings, lace, burlap, mason jars filled with signature cocktails as an example.
Birds/Love birds/Use of birdwire – seems to be everywhere in home decor right now and will carry over into wedding decor. Move over burlap, chicken wire is the hot new rustic wedding decor item.
Glitzy glamour of the 1920s – with the release of the Great Gatsby movie, this will bring the glitzy decade back into fashion, look out for flapper fashion, stylish headpieces and art deco patterns.
Unique backdrops and backgrounds – whether it’s for a photo booth, dessert table, your ceremony backdrop or behind the head table, the possibilities are endless. Perhaps a DIY project? i.e. beautiful yards of lace, strips of multi colored fabric, or floral garlands hung vertically.
Mix-matched centerpieces – instead of the one flower arrangement on the table, couples are considering a variety of smaller bud vases with a variety of single-stemmed flowers.
Though these may be some of the popular trends in 2013, at the end of the day, what makes a wedding special are those personal elements that come from the couple and those things they love the most. Adding those elements to a wedding will make it unique.
